ASTROLUX® ED01 Runtime - 1 min Duration
- Maximum brightness was 1106lm @00:00:03 - 85% of what is claimed by the manufacturer.
- Light measured at 808lm @30s, for ANSI FL1 Standards (except that our ambient temp is higher than 24°C).
- Low mode output test was omitted as it would take forever(days) to complete. Hence, I used 1lm value to represent LOW mode output for the first 3hrs.

ASTROLUX® ED01 Runtime - 1 hr Duration
- User can trigger back to high mode as and when, but ED01 will gradually stepdown within a minute.
- Temperature reached 47°C/ 117°F on 3rd consecutive trigger.
- We do not expect significant changes in the output for the next 1-2hrs, apart from gradual reduction of output as cell charges deplete. Hence, we decided to terminate the test around 8min mark.

ASTROLUX® ED01 Runtime - 1hr Duration
- Test terminated at 1 hour mark. Actual runtime for each level will be determined by the battery model used.
- Medium mode ran for over 3hrs straight, and I had to manually terminate my test to save my battery for over-discharging.
- No LVP protection or warning was being observed when it ran till 2.55V.

The flashlight with the most inconsistent performance and features that I have.
What it advertises and what it delivers:
10 lumens in low mode. 1 real lumen. 5 would be acceptable.
550 lumens in medium mode. Barely 400 or less real.
1200 lumens in high mode. About 1000 real.
That in one minute it drops from 1000 to 300 is a farce.
Almost 51,000 candles and 450 meters of range. Is it a joke or is it a scam?
A tail light that can only be turned off if you unscrew the head.
A weak and useless RGB light. Why doesn’t it have a separate red, green and blue mode?
A charging system that renders the flashlight useless while it is charging.
A UI that sometimes fails and does not memorize.
As for the real operating durations, well, given what I’ve seen with the lumens it declares, I don’t believe them either.
Pros.
Exquisite workmanship. The threads came very dry, but with some Vaseline, they improved a lot.
A very well made and very firm clip.
In green it is really pretty.
Short tube for 18350 battery. If you have one of these batteries, you have two flashlights in one (although the short tube does not support the clip, but it does support a cord).
How should it be improved?
With a more reliable UI.
With separate RGB colors.
Since it does not meet the lumens it announces, at least a 50-100 lumen mode between low and medium mode. Going from 1 to 400 lumen is neither useful nor comfortable.
A smoother descent from high mode.
And please, Astrolux do not lie so blatantly about performance. That benefits no one.
Thank you very much for the review.
